Advantages and Disadvantages of Living in Urban (City)
Everyone is struggling to find a good place for living where they can find whatever they want. As in urban where almost everything is available, we can see that the population is very high compared to other place across the country. Now in Phnom Phen, the capital city of Cambodia, more and more people is coming everyday and the population keeps increasing so everything keeps changing all the time. People also try to get themselves with the new environment too. Nothing is perfect. Even they can find a place where they can get whatever they want but there are many other things for them to cope with.
To make more money, some people choose to leave rural for urban. Of course most of them can find a better paid job with higher salary. They can save money and send to their family. There are many companies and factories so they can find jobs easier than in rural where there are limited.
Another thing is to get high education. Most young people go to urban to get a better education where rural area can’t deliver them. In Cambodia, students in most rural area can only finish high school but there is no university for them to study so going to urban is their dream of high education.
The last one is service. In urban, people can access to almost whatever services they want with high quality which help them to improve their living standard. Health care is one of the most important service that everyone need especially old people. More than this there are so many other entertainment places to be happy.
Well! Not everything is good like that. If you take a look at it you can see there are many bad things about it too. One thing is the bad traffic. There are so many people on the road so it is easy to have traffic jam. During rush hours, it can take up to 1 hours just to get from one place to another.
Another thing is the bad environment. Urban has a very bad environment according to the number of people. Air pollution and noise pollution are very bad that most people need to see doctor to look after their health. Smoke from their cars and motocycles make the environment bad. The noise from their cars, motocycle and other clubs can make people around them feel stress.
The last of all is high expanse. Even they can earn much but they also need to spend much too. The prices of products are high that some poor people can’t get a good food. Look at houses and apartments, it is hard to find a cheap place to live. The price of house and apartment is very high that most people must save money for more than 10 years to but a small flat.
To sum up, if we can manage time and money well, we can have a good lives in urban. There are many jobs to get and much to spend but we can get a good service and better education that can make our lives comfortable.
